Juventus 2 - 0 Olympiacos Video Highlight All Goals - Super sub Gonzalo Higuain makes the difference to hand Juve their first Champions League points this season. Gonzalo Higuain proved his doubters wrong as he came off the bench to set Juventus on its way to a 2-0 win against Olympiakos in the Champions League on Wednesday. Higuain, who has been dropped from the Argentina squad, was left out of Juve's starting lineup for the second successive match. But he was brought on for Juan Cuadrado on the hour mark and responded by scoring nine minutes later and then helping to line up his team's second goal. Mario Mandzukic netted Juve's second as the Italian side moved onto three points in Group D, three below Barcelona, which won 1-0 at Sporting Lisbon.

Video Highlight All Goals Juventus 3 - 0 ChievoVerona - Juventus warmed up for Tuesday's Champions League showdown with Barcelona by beating Chievo 3-0 in Serie A. The reigning champions boast a remarkable head-to-head record against Saturday's opponents, which now shows 21 wins and only one defeat in 29 meetings following Saturday's Turin triumph. Quality, rather than luck, may well be the decisive factor in that one-sided history, but still fortune played a part in this meeting, with Perparim Hetemaj's 17th-minute own goal breaking the deadlock.

An injury to Kieran Trippier was the only downside in an otherwise superb dress rehearsal for Tottenham Hotspur against a star-studded Juventus side at Wembley Stadium. Trippier was involved in a collision with Juventus left-back Alex Sandro – the £60million Chelsea target – and later left on crutches while wearing a boot. It is a cause for concern for Mauricio Pochettino and Tottenham, who sold their former first-choice right-back Kyle Walker to Manchester City for £50m this summer.
