Barcelona 3 - 0 Las Palmas Video Highlight All Goals - Barcelona's La Liga game against Las Palmas was played behind closed doors as a protest after their request for it to be postponed in light of Catalonia's independence referendum was rejected. The Spanish government pledged to stop a poll declared illegal on a day of violent protests and unrest. Barca took the decision to play behind closed doors 25 minutes before kick-off, with thousands of fans outside. The league leaders cruised to a comfortable 3-0 victory. Catalonia, a region of 7.5 million people in north-eastern Spain, has its own language and culture and Barcelona is its capital.

Augsburg 1 - 2 Borussia Dortmund Video Highlight All Goals - Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang missed a late penalty but Borussia Dortmund continued their fine start to the Bundesliga season on Matchday 7, a dominant first-half attacking performance enough to secure a 2-1 win at plucky Augsburg. It took no time at all for Dortmund's front line to click into gear in Augsburg, Andrey Yarmolenko's sumptuous backheel – his first Bundesliga goal – putting the visitors ahead early on. Augsburg hit back almost instantly, though, Caiuby ghosting into the box and heading past Roman Bürki. Undeterred, BVB continued on the front foot and reclaimed the lead thanks to Shinji Kagawa's delicious dink, but pushing for a third before the break, Aubameyang spurned a chance he would usually take when on-on-one with Marwin Hitz.

Video Highlight All Goals Barcelona 5 - 0 Espanyol - Lionel Messi scored a hat-trick as Barcelona thrashed their local rivals to go top of La Liga, with late goals from Gerard Piqué and Luis Suárez completing the job. They will face tougher opposition – starting with Juventus on Tuesday – but after recent off-field turmoil, Barcelona can enjoy this result. Lionel Messi was as unplayable as ever, scoring his 27th La Liga hat-trick, and late goals from Gerard Piqué and Luis Suárez – the latter set up by Ousmane Dembélé – added gloss to the scoreline. Barcelona are top of the league, which puts their crisis into perspective.

Video Highlight All Goals Manchester United Legends 2 - 2 Barcelona Legends - Manchester United Legends enjoyed a trip down memory lane — and a 2-2 draw with Barcelona Legends — on a day where football did all it could to help those less fortunate. The legs might have been a little slower, the stomachs a little thicker and the hair a little greyer but Old Trafford still contained plenty of footballing class and skill on Saturday afternoon in a match played under skies more suitable to Spain than the northwest. If you rated all the players on display at modern-day prices, then the Theatre of Dreams was richer than Fort Knox at kick-off — and the family friendly crowd were delighted to see heroes of yesterday in action.

The Spanish and European champions were dominant, even without the suspended Cristiano Ronaldo. Marco Asensio, who also scored in the 3-1 first-leg win, gave them an early lead with an excellent 25-yard strike.

And Karim Benzema flicked up Marcelo's cross and turned defender Samuel Umtiti to fire home a second with Barcelona rarely looking like coming back. Real eased off in the second half, with the cup practically wrapped up, and Barca improved slightly as a result, with Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez hitting the woodwork.

Gerard Pique slid Marcelo's cross into his own net before Lionel Messi levelled from a penalty. Ronaldo, who was a substitute, restored Real's lead when he ran from halfway before smashing an effort home.

He was booked for taking off his shirt to celebrate and shown a second yellow shortly after for a dive - before Marco Asensio scored an excellent third. Ronaldo felt he should have had a penalty when he went down under pressure from Samuel Umtiti, and appeared to shove the referee in the back after he was shown the red card.

Video Highlight All Goals AC Milan 1 - 2 Real Betis - AC Milan lost to Real Betis as the Spanish side answered Andre Silva's late penalty with a spot-kick of their own. Andre Silva scored his first AC Milan goal but he could not prevent his side from going down a last-gasp 2-1 defeat against Real Betis in an entertaining friendly. Forward Silva, signed from Porto, netted from the penalty spot with 15 minutes left of the match in Catania, having earlier had a goal ruled out by a VAR review and been denied by some inspired goalkeeping from Dani Gimenez. His intervention from 12 yards came eight minutes after Betis substitute Fabian had scored with a magnificent strike. But Betis won it in the last minute when VAR again worked in their favour, penalising Hakan Calhanoglu for a handball that allowed substitute Antonio Sanabria to score from the spot.

Video Highlight All Goals Real Madrid 2 - 1 Manchester United - Manchester United were outclassed as Spanish and European champions Real Madrid retained the Uefa Super Cup with victory in a sweltering Skopje. Madrid dominated from the start and led when Casemiro - who earlier hit the bar - slid in a half volley. They doubled their lead when Isco calmly slotted in from eight yards after a neat one-two with Gareth Bale, who started ahead of Cristiano Ronaldo. New £75m striker Romelu Lukaku tapped in before Marcus Rashford scuffed wide.

The Europa League winners were given encouragement by Lukaku's strike, despite rarely threatening the Madrid goal in the previous hour, and could have scored a barely deserved equaliser through half-time substitute Rashford with nine minutes left.

And it certainly wasn't Neymar, who is long gone having left for Paris Saint-Germain last week. Instead, it was Neymar's Brazilian compatriots, Chapecoense, who Barcelona invited to take part in this season's Joan Gamper Trophy match after last year's devastating plane crash which killed 71 people, who were given the biggest reception. They were also given €250,000 by Barca as way of a donation.

An Ever Banega brace looked to have consigned the Toffees to their first defeat of pre-season, after Sandro Ramirez's opener just 34 seconds into the encounter, but Mirallas was on hand to convert from the spot after he had been fouled by Nicolas Pareja. Blues manager Ronald Koeman was pleased by his side's performance just three days after the 2-0 aggregate victory over Ruzomberok in the third qualifying round of the Europa League.
